insurance reform

EST. 2024

Every day, there are hundreds—if not thousands—of individuals across America who have to choose between food, clothing, or other necessities and being able to afford their life-saving medications. Some have even lost their life going days without a prescription that was too expensive.

And the greed of Pharmacy Benefit Managers (PBMs) is to blame.

The time has come. Enough is enough. Patient Protector is a forum not only to educate the public on the tragic impact PBMs have had on American healthcare system, but also to provide them with a platform where they can share their personal stories. Together, your experiences combined with our advocacy work can help put an end to PBM abuse and fix the pharmaceutical and insurance industries FOR GOOD, and FOR THE GOOD of every single American.

We've been working hard on a docuseries that tells the true story of PBM abuse,

and we're almost ready to share it with you!

Meet Cole

Cole Schmidtknecht was a quirky, funny kid, wise and curious beyond his years. He also became the inspiration for Patient Protector after his life was cut short at just 22-years-old.

Cole had had asthma all of his life, but it was well managed... That is, until his life-sustaining inhaler became unaffordable for him. He chose to pay his rent instead, and suffered a severe asthma attack and cardiac arrest just days later.

Has your medication, like Cole's, become too expensive? Are you:

Being forced to fill your prescriptions at certain pharmacies (e.g., via mail order), even if they're not a good fit for you or the kinds of medicines you take?

Take certain medications, even ones that are more expensive when a cheaper version is available?

Spending hours on the phone trying to get your medications covered?

These are all examples of

PBM abuse.
